Capacitor Replacement

This job is among the most common and does not include any service fee. It is so common that when the outdoor unit is not working properly the first thing any tech with check is the run/start capacitor. The capacitor can only handle temperatures up to 155°F. When installed in a metal unit outside in the sun and with 220 Volts running through it, its no surprise it needs to be replaced often. Signs the capacitor has gone bad include:

- Silent Outdoor unit

- Air circulating inside the house but not cooling

- fan on the outdoor unit not moving

- Refrigerant line not cold

Run/Start Capacitor replacement:
$225

Drain line Clearing

Drain lines are possibly the most common issue with any unit. Even with constant care by changing filters regularly and using drain line solutions, it is inevitable that your drain will block itself up. A complex drain line charge is when the PVC line is installed into the nearest bedroom sink. These cost a bit more as it requires our techs to take apart the connection under the bathroom vanity and catching the water in a bucket. A simple drain line is one that flows outside and does not require messing with any plumbing. Signs a drain line has clogged up are:

- Thermostat having no power to it

- The unit not responding to the thermostat

- Bathroom sinks not draining

Complex Drain line:
$250
Simple Drain line:
$200

Outdoor Fan Motor Replacement

The motor on the outdoor unit may also be bad when diagnosing the capacitor, though not as common. It is almost always due to age. When the unit makes it past it 10th year of operation years of weather and heat will wear down the internal coil and bearings. We provide two options for the replacement of this part and will work with our costumers to find out which is best. Every motor on each unit is often different and will make the exact quote dependent on the unit we are servicing. below are some rough estimates for the price we will be looking at. (Motor prices will vary from $125 all the way up to $1250)

Generic Motor replacement: $300- $650
Factory Motor replacement:
$650 - $1250

Indoor Blower Motor Replacement

Indoor blower motors are quite similar to their outdoor counterparts with the differences being made at the metal housing they are contain within. Often times, though the motor may be operational, the blower wheel will be off balance or broken leading to a loud metal screech. The most common sign a blower motor has failed would be if the indoor coil and evaporator refrigerant line has frozen up. Ensure your filters are changed regularly to extend the life of this motor as allowing a restriction in the duct system will cause this unit to work much harder through it life.

Generic Motor replacement:
$450 - $750
Factory Motor replacement:
$750 - $1600

Curcuit Board/Transformer Replacement

On all makes and models of air conditioners there are lots of circuits that can fail. These will often times be caused by a low voltage short and will require the 3-amp fuse to be replaced. A worst-case scenario would be a necessary replacement of the units' circuit board, as well as the transformer. Like the blower motors price is dependent on the type of circuit board that is installed on the unit. A general rule of thumb is to assume the newer the unit is the most complex the circuit board within it is.

Circuit Board replacement:
$125 - $900
Transformer:
$80 - $250

Unit replacement

Sometimes due to age or catastrophic failure we recommend or require the entire Air conditioning and Heating system to be replaced. Check out our Units and call for pricing.
